A Family Business Since 1923

our family

Our ranch is a family business; it’s been that way since our grandfather, Edward R. Christensen, began building the ranch in 1923. The ranch is operated by cousins Eric Christensen and Kathy Wood and their families. We’re also blessed with ranch hands who are family, working with us to continue in the honorable traditions of past generations with a focus on doing what’s right for our cattle and for our land.

Eric & Jodi Christensen

Eric moved back to the ranch in 1997 after spending several years working with his fraternity, Alpha Tau Omega, at the national level after earning his business degree. Eric and Jodi were married in 1999; in 2000, their son, Tyler, was born and Allie, their daughter, was born in 2002.

She married Donald Wood in 1996 and became a stepmom to Becky; their son, Connor, was born in 1998, followed by their daughter, Kirsten, in 2000. She and Don are now grandparents to Caden and Tobyn, sons of Becky and her husband, Chris.

Connor Wood

Connor graduated from the University of Colorado Denver with a Fine Arts Degree, concentration in Animation. He had the distinction of graduating virtually, as the year was 2020. He has been working at the ranch since the spring of 2020, while doing free-lance animation for clients in his limited spare time. He is learning the multi-faceting jobs needed to make the ranch and farm work smoothly and has a hand in the beef inventory and boxed beef shipping.

Tyler Christensen

Tyler Graduated from Chadron State College in 2021 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration and an emphasis in Agriculture. Tyler is currently working as the Logistics Coordinator for Paradigm Fresh Inc. in Fort Morgan. In his spare time, Tyler also owns and operates NOCO Pro Audio & DJ providing DJ services and emceeing events throughout Northern Colorado. While he is not on the ranch for the day to day tasks, Tyler helps with our social and marketing platforms as well as continuing rotation on the weekend crew!

Kirsten Wood

Kirsten graduated with her Associate of Science Ag Business degree from Northeastern Junior College and is currently finishing her Bachelor of Science Ag Business degree at West Texas A & M University in Canyon, TX. She plans to work in the Ag industry for a few years before making the transition to working into the family business. During school breaks, she works on the ranch, learning the skills needed to run the operation and has learned the boxed beef business from the ground up.

Allie Christensen

Allie is currently a Junior at Colorado State University studying Biology with an emphasis in Pre-Health.
With 3 short semesters left, Allie is quite busy taking classes over summer breaks and anticipates graduating in December 2023. Outside of school, she helps out around the ranch during harvest, brandings, and other big projects when her time and schedule allows. Once she graduates with her Bachelors of Science in Pre-Health Biology, Allie will take some time to build her application and apply for a Masters in Physician Assistant studies program.

Chris, Becky, Caden & Tobyn

Becky married Chris Weimer in early 2021. Chris, with his sisters, runs his own successful  2nd generation geo-technical construction firm. Becky has worked with pre-school aged kids for 20 years. Her oldest son, Caden, is acquiring his Business Degree at the University of Nebraska, Kearney and her youngest son, Tobyn, attends Weldon Valley Elementary school right up the road from the ranch.

Ranch Hands
Jeff Norris Christensen Ranch Foreman

Jeff

Joined the Ranch in 2004

Jeff is the nephew of Don and Kathy. When our 35 year employee decided to retire, Jeff applied for the position, as he had helped at the ranch during vacations, so was aware of what the job entailed.

Jeff is our main ranch foreman; he is a jack of all trades, including the farming and feedlot, but his main interest are the cattle.

Jeff's strongest attribute is his willingness to get the job done, no matter day of week or time of day. He is skilled in all aspects of the ranch, so is invaluable as a part of the family.

When Jeff started, he brought his family too. Helen, his wife, and Morgan, his daughter, have also worked at the farm - and continue when hands are needed.

Dana Christensen

Dana

Joined the Ranch in 2021

Dana is one of our third-generation cousins. She helps with the boxed beef business every Monday and during the holiday rush. She helps set up boxes and materials for packing day, helps pack the beef, and takes care of printing shipping labels for each box.

Dana never stops moving once she gets here on Monday. If there is downtime while she waits for others to get their part started, she is cleaning the office or setting up for packing. She could run the whole day if needed.

Dana grew up on the farm in the house where Jeff and Helen now live. She graduated from the local school and fully understands who we are as a family business, as she grew up in it.

Berrie Christensen Ranch Hand

Berrie

Joined the Ranch in 2022

Berrie is the newest member of our family, joining the ranch in September. He was introduced to us by Helen, Jeff's wife.

Right now, Berrie is helping with all aspects of our operation. Although he's new to the ranch, he hit the ground running. He understands how to work with animals and machinery, making him a welcome and well-rounded addition to our team.

Berrie and his wife, Kelsey, are expecting their first child this Fall and we are all so excited for their family!
