A Family Business Since 1923

our family

Our ranch is a family business; it’s been that way since our grandfather, Edward R. Christensen, began building the ranch in 1923. The ranch is operated by cousins Eric Christensen and Kathy Wood and their families. We’re also blessed with ranch hands who are family, working with us to continue in the honorable traditions of past generations with a focus on doing what’s right for our cattle and for our land.

Eric & Jodi Christensen

Eric moved back to the ranch in 1997 after spending several years working with his fraternity, Alpha Tau Omega, at the national level after earning his business degree. Eric and Jodi were married in 1999; in 2000, their son, Tyler, was born and Allie, their daughter, was born in 2002.

Connor graduated from the University of Colorado Denver in 2020 with a Fine Arts degree, concentrating in Animation. After spending time freelancing in his field, he discovered that ranch life suited his lifestyle far more than working behind a computer. Since joining the ranch full-time, Connor has taken on a variety of responsibilities, including herd health checks, feeding and water tank maintenance, vehicle upkeep, and overseeing specific cattle groups such as heifers on irrigated pasture that require rotation and close monitoring. He also helps organize boxed beef in the freezer and assists with beef pick-up and packaging. Outside of ranch work, Connor enjoys cooler days outdoors, as well as time spent at home gardening, relaxing, and working on personal art projects.

Tyler Christensen
Tyler Graduated from Chadron State College in 2021 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration and an emphasis in Agriculture. Tyler works as the Logistics Coordinator for Paradigm Fresh Inc., a commodities brokerage based in Fort Morgan. In this role, he facilitates the transportation of produce, primarily onions, ensuring products move efficiently from growers to buyers. Tyler also stays connected to the family ranch, supporting when needed and contributing to its long standing traditions.
Kirsten Wood

Kirsten graduated from West Texas A&M University in 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness, where she also competed on the university’s Ranch Horse Team. She now works full-time on the ranch, helping with daily chores, seasonal work, and cattle projects. She also manages the ranch’s cattle records and inventory, ensuring accurate health and production data that can be tracked over time. Kirsten also plays a key role in sharing Christensen Ranch’s story through social media, blending day-to-day photos, education, and real-life experiences to help connect customers with their rancher. Outside of work, she spends her time riding and showing her horses, competing in Versatility Ranch Horse shows through AQHA, a passion she has pursued since childhood. She also gives back through the Morgan County 4-H Ranch Horse program, where she volunteers to help local kids strengthen their riding skills during practices at the ranch.

Allie Christensen

Allie graduated from Colorado State University in December 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences, with a Pre-Health emphasis. Following graduation, she began her first healthcare role as a Certified Patient Care Assistant, gaining clinical experience in preparation for her PA school applications. Through her dedication, Allie was accepted to her top-choice program and will begin the Master of Physician Assistant Studies at Rocky Vista University in the Fall of 2026. Outside of her academic and professional pursuits, Allie helps out around the ranch during harvest, brandings, and other major projects. She also enjoys her time spent on the softball diamond as an assistant coach for the 16U Greeley Grays travel softball team.

Chris, Becky, Caden & Tobyn

Becky married Chris Weimer in early 2021. Chris, with his sisters, runs his own successful  2nd generation geo-technical construction firm. Becky has worked with pre-school aged kids for 20 years. Her oldest son, Caden, is acquiring his Business Degree at the University of Nebraska, Kearney and her youngest son, Tobyn, attends Weldon Valley Elementary school right up the road from the ranch.

Ranch Hands

JEFF

Joined the Ranch in 2004
Jeff is the nephew of Don and Kathy and has been an important part of Christensen Ranch for more than 20 years. As ranch foreman, he is a true jack of all trades, from farming and feedlot work to caring for cattle, which remain his main interest. Known for his willingness to tackle any job, any day, at any time, Jeff’s skills in every aspect of the operation make him an invaluable member of the team. Ranching is a family affair for him as well. His wife, Helen, and daughter, Morgan, have both pitched in over the years and continue to help when needed. Morgan is now married to Austin Launer, and they welcomed their first child in the summer of 2025, making Jeff and Helen proud grandparents.

DANA

Joined the Ranch in 2021
Dana is one of our third-generation cousins. She helps with the boxed beef business every Monday and during the holiday rush. She helps set up boxes and materials for packing day, helps pack the beef, and takes care of printing shipping labels for each box. Dana never stops moving once she gets here on Monday. If there is downtime while she waits for others to get their part started, she is cleaning the office or setting up for packing. She could run the whole day if needed. Dana grew up on the farm in the house where Jeff and Helen now live. She graduated from the local school and fully understands who we are as a family business, as she grew up in it.

BERRIE

Joined the Ranch in 2022
Berrie came to Christensen Ranch with a strong background in equipment repair, having taken a number of diesel mechanic courses that made him a natural fit for the work here. His main responsibilities include general farm and ranch work, with a focus on repairing and maintaining equipment. Since joining, he has learned corn planting and harvesting, helped with the retail beef business, and gained experience running the harvester, which has become one of his favorite jobs. Like the rest of the crew, Berrie is all hands on deck during the busiest times of the year. His wife, Kelsey, also helps with ranch work when time allows and is engraving products for Christmas this year. Together they are raising their daughter, Adaline, almost three, alongside the Christensen Ranch family. They value the freedom of ranch life compared to city living and look forward to raising Adaline in this community surrounded by good friends.
