Our eagle friends have apparently figured out just how photogenic and loved they are! 🦅📸
With each passing week, they seem to be getting a little less camera shy and a whole lot more comfortable striking a pose for us! We certainly aren't complaining, because we never get tired of capturing these majestic beauties! ❤️

We are still hard at work chopping earlage, but never fear, the end is in sight. While we have been in corn harvest for about a month, we are getting closer to the end, and while we are excited to have corn put up for the year, we have plenty of projects we need to get to that have been on the back burner. Wish us luck as we finish up corn harvest for 2026!

We consider ourselves pretty good at fattening cat

We consider ourselves pretty good at fattening cattle, but we don't think we are quite that good at it. Unfortunately, this little guy had a run in with a rattlesnake right before the weather started getting to cold. 🐍 Thankfully he had no issues breathing or eating, only leaving him a hair uncomfortable for a few days. After getting some medicine, the swelling went down and he was back to normal activity within the week!

The best part of corn harvest is getting to see what has been living in the fields all year. There is no shortage of coyotes, raccoons, rabbits and unfortunately a deer and its entire family. While smaller animals also run out of the field as we are cutting, they can be harder to catch pictures of as they take off and look for a safe place to hide. The deer on the other hand... they hang out and watch us work. While it is fun to see just how many deer we have been feeding, what is not fun is getting to see how much corn they have destroyed throughout the year. 🌽

2026 Fall Branding has come and gone, and as alway

2026 Fall Branding has come and gone, and as always we are beyond thankful for all of the help from family, friends and neighbors! While we didn't quite get pictures of everyone who made it out, it doesn't mean we don't appreciate their help. We had a wonderful sunny and 75 degree day, and couldn't have asked for the day to go any smoother.

While branding is why we all get together, we are also thankful for Jodi for doing all of the shopping and cooking to keep the whole crew fed, and for a few cousins who made it out to grill the steaks! 🥩

A couple of weeks ago, Tyler was at work on a Frid

A couple of weeks ago, Tyler was at work on a Friday afternoon when he overheard a phone call, the Brush Chamber was searching for a refrigerated truck to keep the beer cold for the Oktoberfest beer garden the next day. 🍺

While the company wasn’t able to provide a truck, Tyler immediately thought, “We can help!” and jumped into action.
Saturday morning, Tyler delivered The Christensen Ranch refrigerated box truck, and just like that…the beer was cold and the beer garden was ready for Oktoberfest! 🍻🙌

When asked what the cost was for the use of the truck, Eric’s response was simple: “Nothing. We’re just glad we could help.”
As a thank-you, Christensen Ranch received an annual membership to the Brush Chamber of Commerce.

Sometimes being a good neighbor means lending a hand. Other times, it means making sure the beer stays cold. 😂🍺

Cheers to Tyler for jumping into action and to the Brush Chamber for a great Oktoberfest! 🍻

After finishing chopping corn silage at the end of

After finishing chopping corn silage at the end of September, we pulled the earlage header into the shop to do some maintenance before we hit the fields. With enough wear and tear over the years, parts need replacing from time to time to keep everything running at its best. So, prior to starting earlage harvest, we replaced the stalk rolls, which are what grab the corn stalk and pull it down to tear off the ears of corn. While this kept us in the shop for a few days, we had the guys hard at work and got back into the field in no time. ⚙

We've been on the hunt all Summer for a new addition to the crew, and we'd like to introduce our newest ranch horse, Honeybell (or "Squirrel" if you happen to ask Kirsten)! While Forrest has been Eric's trusted mount for the last decade, he is starting to show his age, and long days are a little harder on him than they used to be. Honeybell made her debut a few weeks ago helping a neighbor gather his cows to precondition, and while we are still getting to know her, we feel like she's going to fit in pretty good around here!

As the Fall heifers finished calving closer to hom

As the Fall heifers finished calving closer to home, it was time to get them back out to pasture with the rest of the Fall herd earlier this month. Not only does it make it easier having fewer herds to drive through every morning, but it was also time to get them moved in time for branding! As we loaded cows and calves up, we made sure to keep track of which numbers got loaded so we could ensure we didn't miss any calves laying out in the grass! 🌱

This week we've seen the first glimpse of Fall com

This week we've seen the first glimpse of Fall coming our way. As the days get shorter and the weather starts getting a little colder, we can see Winter coming our way, and there are a few mixed feelings from everyone on the ranch! While some are thankful it's cooling off a little, there are still those of us sad to see the warm weather fade away. Today we got a little bit of rain to settle the dust as we gear up for some busy days ahead! 🌧️
