Jodi made street tacos with a Christensen Ranch Chuck Roast and our Coffee Chili Seasoning - yum 🌮 This recipe is perfect for busy weeknights and simple pre-holiday dinners.

▪️ Season your roast with Coffee Chili Seasoning, Onion Powder, Garlic Pepper, Salt, and Pepper.
▪️ Cook in your slow-cooker on low for 6-7 hours with beef broth.
▪️ Remove the roast from the slow-cooker and shred the beef.
▪️ Fry corn tortillas.
▪️ Garnish with chopped cilantro and onions and your favorite cheese.
▪️ Enjoy!

In between the Women Leaders in Agriculture Breakfast and the @farmcredit Marketplace Reception yesterday, Kathy and Kirsten had a day filled with meetings and touring the Capital. They, along with Randy Kirkwood, Chris Dollerschell, and Lee Salyards of @premierfarmcredit, met with Colorado Senators John Hickenlooper and Michael Bennet, and Congressman Ken Buck's staff where they discussed the Farm Bill.

They took in all the sights of Washington DC during a group walking tour including the Department of Agriculture and the Washington Monument. Seeing the sights was impactful and a reminder of the amazing achievements of our great country.

The @farmcredit Marketplace Reception last night was an amazing experience! Kathy and Kirsten were able to share the story of our fourth-generation ranch, and samples of our Colorado Beef Jerky, with members of Congress, ag stakeholders, and Farm Credit members from across the country. The beef jerky was a huge hit with people seeking out our booth to get a taste of our naturally raised beef. Meeting farmers and ranchers from across the country was really special, and we especially appreciated the opportunity to share our story with congressional leaders including @repkenbuck of Colorado.

The Farm Credit Marketplace Reception was held outdoors along the Washington DC waterfront, at District Pier at the Wharf. Farm Credit customers from across the country, like us, were able to share their story and samples of their farm- and ranch-raised products.

We'd like to thank @premierfarmcredit, our ag lender, for selecting us to attend the 2023 Farm Credit Fly-In; it was such an honor and an experience we won't forget.

Here's to showing some much needed love to our four-legged employees. While it looks like we have donkeys so we can love on and pet them, they serve a much bigger purpose here on the ranch. The donkeys bounce back and forth between both our spring and fall herd as they near calving. The donkeys are primarily used to keep predators away and ensure the safety of our cow herds as they begin bringing up the newest set of calves. Since we are getting ready to wean our fall herd and our spring herd is still a ways off from calving, the donkeys got a much needed break this week. While his pickup is starting to show its age, mainly due to the hard day-to-day use it receives, routine maintenance allows us to get the maximum use out of all of our vehicles. Last week Kirsten took the week off of work to go

Last week Kirsten took the week off of work to go show at the Stock Horse of Texas World Show in Abilene, TX. With nearly two years off of showing, Kirsten's mare Em had about a month to get back in shape to prepare for a four-day long show. Congratulations to Kirsten and Em for placing 9th overall in the Non-Pro Division!

While the trip itself was fun, the last few weeks leading up to the show had been quite eventful and lead to quite a few change of plans. Kirsten's main mount, Chandler as you all know him, found himself a new home with Hight Performance Horses and Savanna Bricker only two weeks prior to the show. This new team tackled the show pen with only a handful of rides under their belt and did not disappoint. We could not be more excited for the next chapter in Chandler's life, and are so excited to see the success these two will have together!

While at the show we also got to support Kirsten's alma mater, the WTAMU Ranch Horse Team, as they fought their way to their first ever D1 Collegiate World Championship!
